Picnic Hill Pottery is expanding the established work of Kim Lyons, a long time potter based in Lesmurdie. Picnic Hill Pottery has a solid reputation for hand thrown terracotta flower pots and other products. Picnic Hill Pottery was designed to shift the focus back to more individual pieces.

Thrown from local clays processed at our Lesmurdie workshop, the terracotta is fired to temperatures exceeding 1080 degrees, which makes our products much harder and enduring then most of the imported terracotta.

Picnic Hill Pottery is planned to become a vibrant centre for pottery making and will cater for workshop tuition and exhibition space for other craftspeople. The pleasure of throwing good pots with responsive clay is what it is all about.
